The brief for the kitchen design was for a crisp, modern look which reflected the minimalist layout of the rest of the house, using edgy materials such as stainless steel and glass. The stainless steel cooker canopy was manufactured by our metal fabricators, as was the back splash, panels and worktops.
The simple design of the cabinets, painted in pale, washed out lilac, perfectly complement the chunky, American black walnut work surface and the client’s dark chocolate seating. The long, stainless steel drawer and cupboard handles generate a calming flow of horizontal lines around the kitchen.
The non-intrusive vertical lines of the coiled, funky radiators, extractor flue and cabinets, combined with the long wired central lights offer a harmonising and linear equilibrium within the kitchen area, without interrupting its simplicity. The look is extreme, but with the soft, wood tones of the Oak floor the eye is lead through this functional kitchen with ease.
